El Cajon Harley-Davidson began as most things do, something else. In 1946 a young farm boy named Chuck Holenda came here from Iowa. To make ends meet he worked on motorcycles.

After a short time he was approched by Burt Johnston, who sold him his Harley-Davidson franchise.

Chuck ran the dealership at that location, in La Mesa for a few years...

Until 1948, when he moved the Harley-Davidson dealership to El Cajon. Where we've been ever since...

And into the future. Come by to see our construction in progress.
